Words beginning with 'Q' :
Quasar (aka Quasi-stellar object or QSO) : extremely bright center of a galaxy with an active black holes. The light is emitted from the intensely heated material in an accretion disk around a black hole. Quasars outshine galaxies they reside in, and can typically be 100 times brighter. They emit energy right across the electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to X-ray wavelengths.
